Exploring the Nene Valley: people, heritage and identity in a changing landscape
£2.8m National Lottery investment in the Nene Valley
The beginning of November marks the start of Nenescape, a five-year Landscape Partnership project supported by a £2.6m Heritage Lottery Fund grant. Thanks to Lottery players, the Nene Valley, its communities and visitors will benefit from 16 projects delivered by 11 partners over the next five years. Activities will provide opportunities for local people to develop skills, improve access to the water, restore wetland and wildlife habitats, uncover and celebrate the area’s history and develop tourism.
The Wild Trout Trust, in association with the Environment Agency, is holding a demonstration of practical habitat improvement techniques for river trout fisheries.
The demonstration will take place on Saturday 27th February on the River Welland, Stamford.
