The past, present and future importance of the River Nene between Northampton and Peterborough will be highlighted by an earmarked grant¹ of £2.8m from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) announced today The grant is part of the Landscape Partnership (LP) programme². Through a series of projects, Nenescape aims to achieve a well-managed, understood and appreciated landscape that tells tales of times gone by; inspires a sense of adventure; is easy to explore; rich in wildlife, and resilient to the pressures of on-going population growth.
Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) are running two events this November and places are filling fast so please book as soon as possible.
Both events will be covering green covers, greening and cross compliance with speakers from CFE, Kings and the Farm Advice Service.
CFE are also promoting their Environmental Seeds offer for 2015.
The NCP event on Models for Open Space Management scheduled for the 6th October has been postponed.
This event will now take place on the afternoon of the 28th October, following the Water Framework Directive event in the morning.

The Countryside Stewardship Water Capital Grants 2015 are now open. Due to the targeted nature of the scheme this information is not being emailed to customers, information and guidancehas been published on GOV.UK. Grants on a range of capital items are available for farm infrastructure improvements to reduce water pollution from agriculture. The maximum grant payable is £10,000. The grants are available to farmers in CSF target areas only.
