Catchment Sensitive Farming Grants & Agri-Environment schemes for 2019
25 Mar 2019
New CSF Officer for Nene & Welland, Peter Brown, talks us through everything you need to know about grants, and the help available for farmers in the catchment in 2019...
Firstly I would like to introduce myself as the new Catchment Sensitive Farming Officer for the Nene & Welland catchments. I will be replacing Georgina Wallis as the point of contact for everything relating to the CSF farming grants.
My family have been farming in the Nene Valley for two generations and I hope to continue that tradition in future years. I will be working in the same way as Georgina has done previously, offering confidential, one to one help to farmers who are in need of grants to improve their farm yards, plus help and advice with the application process for the Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier Scheme. I would urge any farmer to seriously consider the scheme as the options not only deliver for soil, water and wildlife benefits, but also provide a guaranteed income for the length of the agreement.
I also have a number of free, one to one specialist visits on a wide range of topics, designed to help you and your farming business, which can be tailored to suit your specific requirements. As well as these offers I will be running a series of events in the catchment throughout 2019 which will cover topics such as; making the most of your soil, improving your efficiency of purchased inputs and NVZ compliance health checks. If you are interested to know more about the Catchment Sensitive Farming events, or would like to discuss grants or countryside stewardship, the application window is open now so please get in touch via phone or email and I will be happy to help.
