The third year of the Countryside Stewardship scheme has
opened for applications. As of Friday 10th March, farmers and land
managers can apply for the Mid Tier and Higher Tier of Countryside Stewardship.
Catchment Sensitive Farming is focused on providing advice and guidance on the
Mid Tier of Countryside Stewardship, which offers 5-year agreements for environmental
improvements in the wider countryside, such as reducing diffuse water pollution
or improving the environment for birds, pollinators and farm wildlife. There
are also a number of capital grants available. Mid Tier applications need to be
submitted by 30 September 2017 and you need to request a Mid Tier application
pack by 31 July. The application window will close on 30 September 2017. For
