Briars Hills Meadows
09 Aug 2007
This is part of a large scheme to enhance an area of grassland near areas already with a wildlife interest and adjacent to what will be Upton greenspace.
This area of degraded grassland has been restored to form an area of wet grassland, reedbed and wet woodland.
The land is between the river and the canal and water will be extracted to help maintain water levels on the site. The access to the site will be improved and waste soil will be taken to a nearby nature reserve to form a gently sloping bank on the lake there.
This project is jointly run by the Wildlife Trust, Northampton BC and English Partnerships.
