Important habitat restoration work to begin at the Wicksteed water meadows

The Revital-ISE project is running a series of Community Restoration events at the Watermeadows at Wicksteed Park. These events are funded by a Big Lottery 'Awards for All' grant. The site is owned by The Wicksteed Trust and will be managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough as a nature reserve.

The restoration events (booking required, see table further down page) will all take place on the watermeadows and start at 10am and go on until 4pm (except 14th May). Guided walks will take place 2.00-3.30 (booking not required).

The first event was a work party held Saturday 12th March where we worked on ditch restoration and scrub clearance, followed by a Guided Walk (see the March 2011 Press Release). Select here for photos >>>

An interpretation board and leaflet have now been produced for the watermeadows.
