Chapel Brampton Pond Creation
10 Nov 2010
Several ponds across the county have also been either restored or enlarged. This includes a greatly improved pond at Chapel Brampton
This pond in the Brampton Nene valley is now three times larger than before with sides that gently slope. These are far better for wading birds as they like to feed in the shallow margins. The area around the pond has been sown with various grasses and wildflowers.
This pond should attract a diverse range of species including butterflies, bees and dragonflies as well as a wide range of birds.
Farmer Robin Garrett was very pleased with the whole process, he said, ‘The whole system was very easy to follow and worked really well’.
