Pond Restoration and access at Everdon
12 Oct 2010
A grant has been provided to allow the restoration of two ponds and an area surrounding them.
The site was previously of limited value for wildlife and the creation of gentler sloping sides on the ponds and the removal of scrub which has encroached into the ponds should improve them immensely.
The area surrounding the pond is being sown with a wildflower mix and should be attractive to a diverse range of species including butterflies, bees, dragonflies, bats and birds. Access is being provided so that the general public can come down to the site and view the wildlife through a wooden hide.
